$500,000 to $1,000,000 a Day?!

It may seem like a lot of cash, but that's the going rate for an execution on one of the three major portals -- MSN, Yahoo or AOL.. For sure that price will begin to drop after the newness wears off. For now though, that's what advertisers are willing to pay for a full blown over the page execution.

For the most part, these high funnel placements are used for brand awareness. And they are a playgorund of sorts for creative, featuring attention-grabbing visuals and viewer interaction all to help create a memorable brand experience.

Not all HPTOs are created equal. It's a difference in terminology and cost. You can have an "in place" execution or a more expensive "over the page" execution.
